Health Department to Hold Conference on Tobacco-free Communities (03/20/08)

The Connecticut Department of Public Health (DPH) will host a two-day conference for local organizations, agencies and providers on how to build a tobacco-free community. “Building Tobacco-Free Communities” will take place on April 8-9, 2008 at the Holiday Inn in Waterbury. It will feature two days of dynamic speakers, best practices and panel discussions on what works in prevention and cessation of tobacco use.

The conference is part of a series offered by the Connecticut Institute for Tobacco Education and Training, with funding from the CDC. The purpose is to provide training opportunities to community providers, including treatment, education and health professionals, and others who work with tobacco cessation and prevention efforts. CEUs are available.
