A news conference announcing the formation of the Connecticut Cancer Partnership and publication of its statewide plan for comprehensive cancer prevention and control was held on February 22 at the Legislative Office Building in Harford.
Speakers at the press conference were Governor M. Jodi Rell; Andrew Salner, MD, Partnership Chair; J. Robert Galvin, MD, Commissioner of Public Health; Carolyn Runowicz, MD, Director of the UConn Cancer Center and national President of the American Cancer Society; and Richard Edelson, MD, Director of the Yale Cancer Center.
