Partnership News Conference at Legislative Office Building March 3, 2007
On Monday, March 3, 2008, at 9:30 a.m., Rep. Peggy Sayers and Sen. Mary Ann Handley will hold a news conference with members of the Connecticut Cancer Partnership to discuss a legislative initiative to expand the Connecticut Comprehensive Cancer Control Plan.
The bill before the Public Health Committee--SB 459, "An Act Promoting the Early Detection, Diagnosis and
Treatment of Lung Cancer, Breast Cancer and Colon Cancer"-- will improve cancer prevention and control efforts, including treatment and support initiatives
such as the Tobacco QuitLine and screening programs for breast, cervical, and colorectal
cancers.
The news conference will be held in Room 1B of the Legislative Office Building
and will be followed by a public hearing on the bill.
