Gold MarCom Creative Award (12/05/06)
You've Got the
Power, a guide to cancer prevention and early detection for people of
color, has received a 2006 Gold MarCom Creative Award in the category of
Brochure/Public Awareness. The guide was developed and produced by the
Connecticut Cancer Partnership and the Connecticut Department of Public Health,
in collaboration with organizations representing our state's multicultural
communities.
The MarCom Creative Awards, sponsored by the Association of Marketing and
Communication Professionals, is a prestigious international competition--the
largest of its kind in the world. It recognizes outstanding achievements in
marketing and communications, as judged by industry peers.
You've Got the Power was selected from among more than 5,000 entries
submitted to the 2006 competition by public relations agencies, corporate
communications departments, educational institutions, health care organizations,
government agencies, and other businesses and individuals from the U.S. and
several other countries.
The Gold Award is reserved for organizations and individuals whose talent is
judged to exceed a high standard of excellence, and whose work serves as a
benchmark for others. Only 16% of 2006 entries merited a Gold Award.
