The Public Health Committee of the Connecticut General Assembly held a public
hearing on March 3 to discuss Proposed H.B. No. 5235 An Act Providing Funding
For A Comprehensive Cancer Control Plan.
The bill, introduced by Rep. Peggy Sayers, Chair of the legislature's Public
Health Committee, would provide funding to begin implementation of the Connecticut
Comprehensive Cancer Control Plan, 2005-2008.
Public Health Commissioner J. Robert Galvin, MD, and several members of the Connecticut Cancer Partnership (Sarah Shafir, Judy Grasso, Pat Trotta, Susan Richter, Jerry Mande, Vincent Barbetta, Janet Hooper, Andrea Silber, and Andrea Spanierman) spoke in enthusiastic support of the bill.
Our friends at CT-N broadcast the hearing live, and kindly provided us with video of the testimony.
