Current Activities
The Committee met to discuss how best to reduce the cancer-related disparities that have been documented in the Connecticut population.
In addition to the objectives outlined in the Plan, other objectives for the Committee are being finalized:
- Build on the existing “Addressing Health Disparities” plan to further develop the objectives and goals
- Develop an implementation strategy to eliminate cancer-related health disparities
- Ensure that health disparities is a highly visible cancer control priority in the State of Connecticut
- Build relationships with target communities to ensure their endorsement and long-term participation in cancer control efforts.
