Current Activities
The Communications Committee has taken many steps toward achieving the Partnership's communications objectives.
- An identity for the Partnership, embodied in our logo and tagline, were
created and translated into a consistent "look" for all instruments used for communication about the Partnership.
- A quarterly Partnership newsletter, eNews, was developed, and the
first issue was published in February, 2006.
- A slide presentation was produced to educate various groups about the Partnership and the Plan, and to take
on the road for recruiting new partners at Regional Meetings.
- Fact sheets about the Partnership and cancer in Connecticut were produced.
- A press conference was planned for announcing the establishment of the Partnership and completion of the Plan.
- A Connecticut Cancer Partnership web site was established as a key vehicle for communication among all stakeholders in Connecticut's cancer community.
The Committee is continuing its efforts to publicize the Partnership and the Plan, and to educate Connecticut residents about cancer control and prevention.
- Members of the Communications Committee are participating on an
Advisory Panel charged with developing a guide to cancer prevention and
early detection for underserved minority populations in Connecticut. The guide is scheduled
for publication in the Spring of 2006.
- Portable exhibits about the Partnership and its activities are being
developed.
- Committee members are working to identify and train partners to participate in a Speakers Bureau.
- The Committee continues to grow the Partnership web site, to develop its full potential.
